Writing

Like very many other people that have had a good education, I have used my writing skills to produce essays and dissertations that explain ideas or present a rational argument and I have won prizes too; however, I have always thought this particular skill has been best used when describing the various photographs that I have taken over the years - starting as a specialist building cleaning and restoration contractor.

Marketing and Publicity

When starting Triton Building Restoration Ltd, one of the very many skills that I learned very quickly was the ability to communicate well in writing. In the days before e-mail and websites, a good letter of introduction to a potential client was considered to be essential and, when used in brochures, exhibition displays and the printed media, the written word is a very powerful tool.

Education

Having been in “business” for 25 years, I know how to use words to spread good news, concisely provide information for technical reports and to describe various projects in a wide variety of journals worldwide. Subjects that I have highlighted include quarrying, recycling, architectural restoration, archaeology, geological conservation, urban landscaping and public sculpture.
